When I went to the prize winners event I promised the organisers I'd publicise next year's competition here. It's great Ware Poets promote sonnet writing in this way - I think its time a few more SC stalwarts pitched in.

Having come back, to dip my toe in the water, there are a number of observations I could make. However, I'll stick to just one rant for now:

It's this idiotic thing, which now seems to permeate many boards, that you have to immediately revise your pome, there in the thread, as some kind of admittance that you're workshopping a poem; to give everyone the feel-good factor.

ok so i have 10 lines written so far but now im stuck because im not sure on how im going to get this flow together im open to any constructive criticism and ideas
it has to be a shakespearean sonnet so the format is ABAB CDCD EFEF GG and most lines should strive to have 10 syllables for those who dont know

I sent a list of links to Maz's poems workshopped here to the group working on putting together an index of her poems. In the process I re-read a lot of Maz's work - she really had a prodigious talent.
